Many real photo postcards were hand-tinted. However these were a bit over done.
St Eloi or Saint Eligus was the patron saint of goldsmiths, blacksmiths, cattle & horses. There is an annual mass around December 9th at Notre Dame de Paris, for members of the Confraternity of St. Eloi.
