Top photo is closer to the 1870's, bottom photos are a bit later 1810's-1890's Montana, the wild west.
He's most likely French since this cabinet card photograph was taken at the De Lavieter & Co. studio in LaHaye, France. Although he could be dapper too. Now he's yours to use or peruse.
